Final Demo Manufacture
The innovative manufacturing process in OPTICOMS includes:
- Multiple sets of preforms manufactured by automated technologies (AFP, ADMP and robotic pick and place)
- HDF (hot drape forming) of the dry preforms over the spar to
- Placement of all the preforms on the integral FITCoW tools
- "one shot" LRI (liquid resin infusion) of the integral skin and spar structure
- Removal from the tooling
- Final manufactured part
- NDT and CMM of the structure to check for defects or deformations
Final Demo Assembly
The Wibond Cfp provided the very innovative assembly tooling which facilitated large scale structural bonding of the integral 3 spar/upper skin structure to the lower skin
